GroundHog FMS OpsCenter – Rhythm

Rhythm provides supervisors with a simple interface to track when each tablet has been online, and the completeness of data from each GroundHog FMS Operator Tablet being used in the shift. Each time an operator’s tablet comes back online, the app updates the information and it becomes visible in the OpsCenter. This capability lifts the veil of unreliable data from the world of mining. In this blog we’ll give you some tips on how to best use Rhythm in your mine.

Supervisors must ensure data they give data to the right people quickly or it defeats the purpose entirely.

Tips for Better Use of Rhythm

Communicate Effectively:

As with any digital tool, communicating effectively will make implementing it substantially easier. Most of the communication necessary will happen automatically between operator and supervisor. However, it is important that supervisors make use of the data generated in a timely manner. The entire usefulness of Rhythm is the ability to validate the currency of data. Supervisors must ensure data they give data to the right people quickly or it defeats the purpose entirely. It may seem like a simple tip, but it is absolutely essential.

It is incredibly important that supervisors make the importance of rhythm clear to operators.

Ensure Operators Understand the Importance of Rhythm:

It is incredibly important that supervisors make the importance of rhythm clear to operators. This tool relies on operators connecting to OpsCenter throughout the day. By letting operators know that, they can be conscious of “checking in” digitally as much as possible.

OpsCenter serves to increase mine visibility and by combining Rhythm with various other forms of digital data collection, that is more possible than ever before.

Use Rhythm as a compliment to Other Ops Center Features:

Rhythm is not a tool that is meant to be used on its own. Its usefulness comes from the ability to validate data from the other features of GroundHog FMS’ OpsCenter. Knowing the last time a tablet was online isn’t inherently useful. However, knowing the last time a tablet that reported a hazard or location of equipment can be incredibly useful. If an operator reports the location of an asset, it’s critical that information is current otherwise mines cannot operate efficiently. OpsCenter serves to increase mine visibility and by combining Rhythm with various other forms of digital data collection, that is more possible than ever before.
